Roaches

The most common roach in the American home is the German Roach.  The most common areas of infestation are adjacent to kitchens and bathrooms. They are distributed via grocery bags, old newspapers, boxes, appliances and other equipment.  The Oriental Cockroach generally remains outdoors and is found in leaf and wood debris, landscape stones, porches, sewer areas, water meter boxes and drains. The Small Brown Cockroach is another outside pest but may enter the home looking for warm humid areas and shelter as it cool. They frequent garages, attics, and crawl spaces.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures call for a combined knowledge of biological control, habit manipulation modifying cultural practices, observation and when observed then controlling them with proper pest control procedures.  Glue Traps are a good monitor and easy way to begin control.

Roaches are nocturnal and observing activity during the daytime indicates a significant population. Roaches hide in cabinets, appliances, stored clothing, equipment and thriving in areas having poor sanitation with reduced structural integrity. The first step in control is a thorough cleaning of all potential food debris and the sealing any gaps, cracks, or holes where they may hide.  There several methods for effective control and include bait, contact and residual spray, Insect Growth Regulators, pesticide control dust or a combination.

Max Force FC Roach Bait Gel or Advion Cockroach Gel Bait are highly effective and easy to apply. Baits should be placed in warm moist areas, along pipes, behind appliances, Hot water heater closets and other observed roach pathways.  Bait stations like the MaxForce FC Roach Bait Stations are an easy and ready to use option.  Another effective form of bait is the small granular. These are easy to place on shelves, along roach routes and behind items, especially hard to reach areas without heavy lifting.  These granular baits include Max Force Insect Bait and may be distributed directly from the container but the most convenient manner is by using a CentroBulb Applicator.

Aerosols may be sprayed as flushing agents into cracks and crevices, along baseboards and in house voids.  This group includes both contact, residual and dust materials.  Products with residual include Phantom PTCY Kick, CB Invader HPX and CB D - Force.  Contact only pesticides include P.I. and 565 Plus XLO and CB-80.

Concentrate pesticides are easily mixed with water to provide quick, effective and residual control.  These are products like Cyronara 9.7 Demand CS , Suspend SC, Tempo Ultra SC, Tempo Ultra WSP, Talstar One, Demon WP, Demon Max are for use inside and outside the home.  They are easily applied with a Spray Doc 1 Gallon Premium Sprayer.  These concentrates may even be mixed with Insect Growth Regulators such as Archer IGR, Gentrol IGR Aerosol and NyGuard IGR.  An IGR will assist in the elimination of long term control by halting the reproduction of targeted insects, thus increasing residual. roaches roaches roaches roaches

Another option is applying insecticide dust in the void areas such as gaps, cracks, or holes in walls or other areas. These products include Delta Dust, Tempo 1% Dust and may be applied from the container or using a JT Eaton 530 Duster.  All products are safe and effective when applied strictly according to label. roaches roaches roaches roaches   roaches
